The Role
The Client Services Manager will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with both existing and prospective GeoAthena clients. The role combines proactive account management with consultative sales: supporting current clients exceptionally well, broadening those partnerships and creating relationships with organisations that are new to GeoAthena.
This is a relationship-led commercial role, not simply account administration or transactional sales. We are looking for someone who enjoys opening doors, earning trust and understanding what matters to clients, then connecting their challenges and future plans with the capabilities across GeoAthena.
You will act as an important bridge between prospective and existing clients, the commercial team and operational teams. You will help create new opportunities, ensure commitments translate into an excellent client experience and develop relationships into repeat and wider business.
Ultimately, success means our clients see GeoAthena not simply as a supplier, but as a trusted strategic partner.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
· Own and develop relationships with existing GeoAthena clients.
· Build strong relationships with stakeholders at multiple levels within client organisations.
· Develop a deep understanding of each client's organisation, priorities, challenges, projects and future plans.
· Maintain regular, proactive communication rather than relying solely on project-related contact.
· Become a trusted point of contact for clients across the GeoAthena group.
· Ensure clients consistently receive a professional, responsive and high-quality experience.
· Build relationships that extend beyond individual projects or contracts.
Account Development & Growth
· Develop clear account plans for priority clients.
· Identify opportunities to expand existing relationships and increase the range of services clients purchase from GeoAthena.
· Understand where other GeoAthena businesses, services or technologies could solve problems for an existing client.
· Work with commercial and operational teams to turn identified opportunities into proposals and projects.
· Identify upcoming programmes, frameworks, projects and investment priorities within key accounts.
· Help increase client retention, repeat business and revenue from existing customers.
New & Prospective Clients
· Own the development of relationships with strategically important prospective clients.
· Identify and approach target organisations and stakeholders, creating new conversations before formal opportunities or tenders arise.
· Understand prospective clients' challenges and introduce relevant GeoAthena capabilities in a credible, consultative way.
· Build and manage a healthy pipeline of new relationships, qualified opportunities and next actions.
· Attend meetings, industry events and networking opportunities to strengthen GeoAthena's presence within target organisations.
· Coordinate internal expertise to shape compelling proposals and client solutions.
· Work with the commercial team to progress strategic prospects ‘leads’ from first conversation through to active opportunity and new client.
CRM & Commercial Intelligence
· Ensure client relationships, contacts, opportunities and interactions are accurately captured with detail within HubSpot.
· Maintain clear account plans and relationship maps for priority clients.
· Track key stakeholders and understand the strength of GeoAthena's relationships across each account.
· Maintain visibility of future opportunities and potential client requirements.
· Work with the wider commercial team to maintain an accurate picture of account growth and pipeline.
· Use client intelligence to inform GeoAthena's wider commercial strategy.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is naturally relationship-led, commercially driven and highly credible with clients. You will be equally comfortable nurturing a valued long-term account and initiating a conversation with a prospective client.
You may already work in client services, account management, business development, consultative sales, customer success or a similar commercial role that blends relationship ownership with new business development.
Experience within rail, infrastructure, construction, engineering or another B2B technical environment would be valuable, although attitude and relationship-building ability are equally important.
You will ideally demonstrate:
· Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
· Strong commercial awareness and a clear appetite for winning new business.
· Confidence communicating with senior client stakeholders and opening conversations with new contacts.
· The ability to listen and understand the real challenges behind a client's request.
· A proactive approach to developing relationships and generating opportunities.
· The ability to sell consultatively, focusing on client value rather than short-term transactions.
· Strong organisation, follow-through and personal ownership of a commercial pipeline.
· Confidence coordinating people internally to deliver for clients.
· Experience managing multiple strategic accounts or relationships.
· Experience progressing prospects through a structured sales process would be valuable.
· Experience using CRM systems such as HubSpot.
· Detailed and meticulous with updating CRM with valuable data to support reporting + forecasting
· An interest in infrastructure, technology and innovation.
